Grow Progress conducted a test of 1,198 registered voters in Pennsylvania from July 1 – July 2, 2025.

The test found that when people hear about proposed paid family and medical leave legislation in Pennsylvania, they are more likely to agree that the state government is looking out for working people. Without hearing a description of the legislation, less than half (46%) of Pennsylvanians agree that the state government is looking out for working people. With a description of the legislation, that jumps by seven points to 53%. The strongest effects are among people who identified as moderate.

Hearing about the bill also increases support for its passage by five points and increases people’s excitement about the work of the state government from 42% to 47%. Women are 10 points more likely than men to support the bill.
