FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Washington, DC — Paid Leave for All, the national campaign of organizations fighting for paid family and medical leave for all working people, released the following statement about the House’s passage of the Build Back Better Act, which includes a universal and permanent paid family and medical leave program, providing four weeks of paid parental, family caregiving, and medical leave:

“Today’s vote in the House brings us another step closer to passing America’s first national and
comprehensive paid leave policy. Paid family and medical leave is a policy that will unite us, keep us
healthy and keep us working, and it will support every family in America,” said Paid Leave for All Director, Dawn Huckelbridge. “Paid leave is one of the most widely supported policies in the country and there is no lasting recovery or Building Back Better without it. We are grateful to the broad community of advocates, Speaker Pelosi, Chairman Neal and Rep. Rosa DeLauro and all of our champions in Congress who fought relentlessly for paid leave to be included in this package, and we urge the Senate to deliver quickly on passing this common-sense policy for all.”
